Listening and Speaking are the same in both tests. General Training has different Reading texts and requires a letter in Writing Task 1 instead of an Academic visual report.
The 60-minute section has 40 questions across three increasingly difficult sections: everyday texts, workplace texts, and one longer general-interest text.
Task 1 is a letter of at least 150 words responding to a situation. Task 2 is an essay of at least 250 words discussing a point of view, argument, or problem.
Listening has four parts and 40 questions, and recordings are played once. Speaking is an 11–14 minute recorded interview with three parts.
