Spoken responses
The recorded Speaking test is a face-to-face interview with an examiner. Performance is assessed for fluency and coherence, vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation.
1Part 1 - Introduction and Interview
Answer questions about familiar topics such as home, family, work, studies, and interests.
2Part 2 - Long Turn
Prepare from a task card, speak at length on the topic, and answer a brief follow-up question.
3Part 3 - Discussion
Discuss more abstract issues connected to the Part 2 topic and explain your ideas in greater depth.
IELTS uses the same Speaking test for Academic and General Training.
