Rearrange the words to complete Speaker B’s sentence. Tap or drag the words into order.
Speaker A
My student card was damaged, and I need to replace it.
Speaker B
Correct sentence: The student services office should be able to help you replace it.
Student A says that their damaged student card needs to be replaced. Student B responds with a suggestion: “The student services office” is the subject, “should be able” expresses a reasonable expectation, and “to help you replace it” explains the expected assistance. After “help + person,” English can use the base verb without “to”: “help you replace it,” not “help you replacing it.” Other possible responses include “You should contact the student services office” and “They can probably issue you a replacement card.”
